ADE 2025: JULIUS HORSTHUIS AND FRIENDS

During Amsterdam Dance Event 2025, Julius Horsthuis and Friends transformed the dome of the ARTIS-Planetarium into a fully immersive audiovisual universe. From October 22 to 24, audiences stepped into a 360° dreamscape where fractal art, electronic music, and spatial storytelling converged at an exceptional technical and artistic level.

Renowned fractal artist Julius Horsthuis curated three exclusive evenings of live-synced performances, pairing his intricate visual worlds with a carefully selected lineup of pioneering electronic musicians. The program featured collaborations with Suzanne Ciani, Rival Consoles, Matteo Myderwyk, Desert Dwellers, Maarten Vos, and Remy van Kesteren

The result was a seamless fusion of pulsating rhythms, otherworldly fractal architectures, and luminous cosmic landscapes projected across the planetarium dome. Sound and image operated in perfect synchrony, delivering a rare, fully enveloping 360° concert experience available exclusively during ADE.

In addition to the live shows, the film Recombination was screened throughout the event. The film’s original soundtrack, composed by Michael Stearns, David Levy, Max Cooper, Ben Lukas Boysen, Temple Invisible, Ott, and others, further deepened the cinematic and sonic impact of the program.

ADE 2025 marked a milestone edition—artistically ambitious, technically refined, and emotionally resonant.

And we are already hard at work on the plans for ADE 2026.

Building on the momentum of this year’s success, new concepts, new location, new collaborations, and immersive experiences are currently in development. More details will follow soon.
